In fact, a list of top 10 reasons people hate their jobs puts the most common issues up for grabs. The top of list includes a bad boss, and lack of passion, and rounds out with a lack of alignment in values, and a mindset that work is better elsewhere. Truthfully, all ten on the list could ring true for you.
However, I would offer a single goal in the quest for deciding why you’re unhappy with work – Figure out what the single most important reason is. On any given day, one answer may prevail over another. It may be payday and staring at your check, you’re reminded of how underpaid you are. Or you’re overlooked for a promotion during your annual review. Either of those instances will obviously impact your dissatisfaction at work that particular day. But, underlying your day-to-day is without a doubt, a single repetitive reason that drives your unhappiness.
